Three Ways You Can Jazz Up Your Guacamole

Basic guacamole recipe

Fresh guacamole dips don’t have to be complicated. All they need are some avocados, tomatoes, onion, garlic, and salt — that’s it — but such a basic guacamole recipe is only good. It’s not great.

Instead, why not shake things up and add some unique guacamole ingredients? Here are a few, jazzy, spicy guacamole dips you can make to impress your party goers.

Jalapeno-Spicy Guacamole Dip.

What better way to make a spicy guacamole dip than with jalapenos!? All you need to do is dice up some fresh jalapenos and add it to the guacamole, but if you want to go above and beyond, you could also throw in a little cumin, too.

Spicy Grapefruit Guacamole.

Why not throw a little sweet in with your spicy guacamole dip? Get the usual guacamole ingredients, and throw in one minced serrano pepper, a teaspoon of cumin, half a teaspoon of red pepper flakes, and one large ruby red grapefruit. Juice the grapefruit, and add that to the spicy guacamole dip. Then, cut the fruit out, roughly chop it up, and throw it in.

Goat Cheese Guacamole.

If you’ve never added cheese to your guac, get ready to have your mind blown. While this might not be a way to spice up your guacamole, it’s certainly a great way to jazz it up. Just add half a cup of crumbled goat cheese, a quarter of a cup of chopped chives, a quarter of a cup of sun-dried tomatoes, two tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil, and two table spoons of lemon juice to your usual guac recipe.

If your mouth isn’t watering by now, then you may want to call your primary care physician because something might be wrong. If you want to jazz your guacamole up, then try adding jalapeno, grapefruit, or goat cheese to it. You’ll be glad you did.
